What to Expect During a Sick Visit

During a sick visit, your pediatrician will review your child’s symptoms, examine your child, and discuss what may be causing the problem.

When appropriate, we may recommend in-office testing, such as strep, flu, RSV, COVID, urinalysis, or other tests. We will explain the results and help you understand the next steps.

Treatment may include supportive care, medication, follow-up instructions, or referral when needed.

Same-Day Appointments

We know families need access to care when children are sick. Same-day sick visits are available Monday through Saturday.

Calling earlier in the day may help us find the best appointment time for your child. Our goal is to help your child be seen promptly and provide your family with clear guidance on care at home.

When Care Is Urgent

Most sick visits can begin with a call to our office, but some symptoms need urgent or emergency care.

Seek urgent care right away if your child is struggling to breathe, turning blue, difficult to wake, unable to drink, showing signs of dehydration, having severe pain, or appearing very ill.

If something does not seem right, it is always appropriate to seek care.
