Treating Fever and Dosing

Sometimes you need to use medicine to help your child with fever or discomfort. But when you look for the dose on the product label, you read, “Ask you doctor.” You’ll find dosing help here. Remember that Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are both dosed by weight for young children. Acetaminophen can be used down to 2 months age, but Ibuprofen should only be used down to 6 months age. Remember, if your child has unexplained symptoms or fever for more than a couple of days, you should make an appointment to have them seen.
Acetaminophen / Tylenol
May be given every 4 hours.
